Three KC Companies to Compete in Pitch Contest at K-State Incubator

Three KC companies have a shot at more than $90,000 in cash and other prizes during an event next week at Kansas State University’s Launch A Business startup incubator.

Acre Designs, AEGLE Palette and Alvoru Clothing are among 14 startups that will deliver pitches at a June 25 culminating party for Launch A Business’s second class. Launch A Business takes growing companies from across the state and exposes them to training, resources and connections made available by K-State.

A panel of judges will award a $10,000 grand prize to one of the companies, and attendees will have a chance to vote for their favorite.

The companies receiving the most votes will receive cash or in-kind gifts from Launch A Business’s backers.

“Each of the entrepreneurs is deserving of the grand prize, and no matter who wins, all will leave with new knowledge and connections to help them succeed in their venture,” said Chad Jackson, director of the Center for the Advancement of Entrepreneurship in the Kansas State University’s College of Business Administration. “We couldn’t be happier with the outpouring of support from our alumni and friends for these entrepreneurs and this program.”

Up for a road trip? The public is welcome to attend the party, but they must register online by June 23. The event will from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan. You can register at this website.
