Rosburg Relishes Volunteering as Big Brother

Last month, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America presented one of its highest honors to Chris Rosburg, the owner and president of CR Promotions.

Rosburg, who has volunteered with the nonprofit for more than five years, was named the National Big Brother of the Year. He received the award during a ceremony at the nonprofit’s conference in Philadelphia.

In addition to mentoring his “Little,” Darrion, Rosburg helps recruit other volunteers and raise money for the Kansas City affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

In fact, Rosburg plans to donate 5 percent of CR Promotions’ sales in June to the organization. Right now, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City is in the middle of its biggest annual fundraiser, the Summer Bowl for Kids’ Sake.

Rosburg was inspired to become a Big Brother by his real-life little brothers, who are also volunteers. He said that being a friend and mentor to Darrion has been immensely rewarding.

“The questions that he asks me, the thoughts that he has about life—I can truly tell that I’m making a difference in this young man’s life.”
