Pipeline Fellowship, KU Agree to New Partnership

The Pipeline Entrepreneurial Fellowship has entered into a new three-year partnership with the University of Kansas.

As an official sponsor of Pipeline, KU will help financially support the accelerator program. The two organizations will try to foster relationships between KU researchers and entrepreneurs, who could help translate the university’s research into products and services for the consumer market.

KU Innovation & Collaboration, a nonprofit that encourages technology transfer at KU, will serve as the university’s point of contact with Pipeline.

“The Pipeline program’s demonstrated success in scaling high-growth entrepreneurs makes it a natural partner to assist KU as we continue building a strategy to move more KU technologies into startup companies,” said Julie Nagel, interim president of KU Innovation & Collaboration and interim associate chancellor for innovation and entrepreneurship.

“This partnership will expose our faculty to high-impact entrepreneurs and, more broadly, be a powerful tool to hit the goals outlined in our Bold Aspirations strategic plan.”

Pipeline already has similar relationships with the University of Missouri-Columbia, Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Nebraska.

The Pipeline Entrepreneurial Fellowship is a yearlong program that works with high-potential entrepreneurs from Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, helping them achieve exponential growth for their companies.

The program is preparing for its annual Innovator of the Year gala on Jan. 22 at the Midland Theatre. This year’s class of Pipeline fellows will compete to be named Innovator of the Year, and the next class of fellows will be named. For more information, visit this website.
