Nominations Open for EY Entrepreneur of the Year

EY—formerly Ernst & Young—is taking nominations now through March 6 for its Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, which honor the nation’s most successful business leaders.

Anyone can submit an Entrepreneur of the Year nomination, and self-nominations are encouraged. Candidates can be founders of high-growth businesses or CEOs who may not have founded their company but have proven instrumental to its achievement.

Entrepreneur of the Year eligibility requirements:

  • The nominee must own or manage a private or public company.
  • The nominee’s company must be at least 3 years old. (There’s also a category for “emerging” businesses; nominees for this award must be 2 to 5 years old.)
  • The nominee must provide comprehensive fiscal performance information for at least three years (or at least two years for emerging businesses).

Regional honorees in different industry categories will be recognized at events throughout the country in June, including a gala on June 25 at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel.

All regional honorees will be inducted into the Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame and automatically become eligible for the national awards program. They will also be invited to the Strategic Growth Forum Nov. 11-15 in Palm Springs, Calif., where they will attend the EY Strategic Growth Forum.

The overall national Entrepreneur of the Year award winner will vie for the title of World Entrepreneur of the Year in June in Monaco.
