MECA Challenge Seeks Students for 20-Hour Entrepreneurial Contest

Applications are being accepted for the MECA Challenge, a student innovation competition to be held Oct. 4-6 at the Sprint Accelerator, 210 W. 19th Terr., in the Crossroads Arts District.

The MECA Challenge — MECA stands for “Most Entrepreneurial City in America” — gives Kansas City area high school and college students the opportunity to hook up with local startups and crack real small business problems in mentor-led teams.

During the event, participants compete in teams to build the best solutions to real business problems.  The teams present their solution and are scored by a panel of judges. There will be prizes.

All chosen participants are required to attend the entire three-day event. Sponsors are Kansas City Startup Village, Affinity Enterprise Group and the Kauffman Foundation.
