Jon Stephens, president of consulting firm Rockhill Strategic, will serve as the interim executive director of the Kansas City Kansas Area Chamber of Commerce.

“As the third-largest city in Kansas, and one of the fastest growing areas in the KC region, KCK is vital to the future of our metro,” Stephens said. “I look forward to bringing more awareness to all that KCK offers.”

Stephens succeeds Greg Kindle, the Wyandotte EDC president who had been serving as the chamber’s chief on an interim basis. One of Stephens’ tasks will include hiring a permanent executive director for the KCK Chamber.

This isn’t the first time that Stephens has helped lead an important civic group. He was previously the interim CEO and president of Visit KC, and he was part of the team that tried to bring the 2016 Republican National Convention to the Kansas City region.

“Having Jon join as our interim executive director is exactly the type of leadership we need to move the Chamber, and all of KCK, forward,” said Greg Cotton, the KCK Chamber’s board chair. “His vision, commitment to the entire KC region and experience in growing successful organizations makes him an ideal choice to head our organization at this time.”
