Boulevard Brewing to Expand Distribution to Ohio

Boulevard Brewing Company will continue its national expansion next year by beginning to distribute its beers to restaurants, bars and liquor stores in Ohio.

The Buckeye State is just the latest new territory for Boulevard. In October, it added distribution in South Carolina, and that followed new partnerships in Florida, north New Jersey and the Philadelphia region.

“Ohio is a great beer market,” said Steve Mills, Boulevard’s vice president of sales, in a release. “With the ongoing expansion of our brewery, it’s time for us to get off the sidelines and into the game.”

Boulevard will partner with Cavalier Distributing, which distributes only imported beers and American craft beers. Cavalier’s coverage area includes Ohio, Indiana and Florida.

“Cavalier is proud to represent some of the finest breweries from across Ohio, the United States and the world,” said George Fisher, the president of Cavalier Distributing. “With Boulevard’s commitment to quality, heritage and passion for brewing, they will fit right in. We are excited to be Boulevard’s partner and bring their array of fresh, flavorful beers to Ohio.”

Boulevard isn’t just expanding its distribution. It’s also building up its production capacity. The brewery is planning a $12 million addition to its facilities. The “Cellar Five” project will involve a new 3,600-square-foot building that will house six 1,000-barrel fermenters by the middle of next year—enough to boost Boulevard production by 40 percent.
