Business.USA.gov serves as a clearinghouse for all business-related programs.
The federal government has launched BusinessUSA, a new website that acts as a clearinghouse for information and services that can help private businesses.
By putting all of the information on one website, officials hope to make it easier for business owners to find government programs that can help them, such as SBA loans or help with exporting to another country.
“It’s a ‘No Wrong Door’ approach for small businesses and exporters, creating a common platform to match businesses with the services relevant to them, regardless of where the information is located or which agency’s website, call center, or office they go to for help,” according to a statement on the website.
In recent weeks, the Obama administration has been emphasizing a need to reduce government bureaucracy and make it easier for businesses to get help. The president wants to merge the Small Business Administration, the Export-Import Bank and several other agencies into one body that would be a one-stop shop for entrepreneurs.
At this point, the BusinessUSA website is a beta version that includes only federal resources, with links to some state agencies. The operators want to eventually add information from more state and local governments, as well as private organizations. At least 10 federal agencies are represented on BusinessUSA.
