KCnext Names Weber New President

Ryan Weber will work to attract new tech companies, funders to KC.

Ryan Weber has been named the new president of KCnext – The Technology Council of Greater Kansas City.

Weber previously served as director of the Angel Capital Group’s Midwest division, recruiting angel investors for projects in the Kansas City region. He also worked as a development officer for Kansas State University’s College of Business Administration and helped found KC Hub, a nonprofit devoted to supporting entrepreneurial businesses.

At KCnext, Weber will work on attracting new tech companies and funders to the region. He’ll also help develop educational and networking events, often in collaboration with other entrepreneurial organizations.

“Weber brings business savvy and the ability to relate to a broad spectrum of professionals from corporate C-level executives to mid-sized and small company leadership,” said Perry Puccetti, president
and CEO, Triple-I Corporation and KCnext board chair. “He has an established professional network in the Kansas City area, including close ties to the region's entrepreneurial community.”

KCnext also has named a new board of directors: Darren Bonawitz, co-owner, 1102 GRAND, LLC; Keith Braman, director of technology commercialization, University of Kansas Information and Telecommunications Technology Center; Matt Denney, director of human resources, Tradebot Systems; Gary Fish, president and CEO, FishNet Security; Lirel Holt, president and CEO, U, Inc.; Greg Kratofil, attorney/shareholder, Polsinelli Shughart PC; Bob Marcusse, president and CEO, Kansas City Area Development Council; Keith Molzer, president and CEO, Balance Innovations; Perry Puccetti, president and CEO, Triple-I Corporation; Dr. Joel Wiggins, president and CEO, Enterprise Center of Johnson County.

KCnext’s membership includes 70 companies that are trying to expand and support the area’s tech ecosystem.
